Mary Lou Dunagan, Jo Ellen Taylor, Nancy Stussy, Carolyn Alberts, Gwen Hansen. Class History After the summer vacation, the class of 1956 started their first year at Mantorville High. The sophomores had their Day on October 3rd,when they initiated us. Were we a sight!!!! In the evening they honored us with a very nice party. Our year started out with a bang when we won first prize with our float in the Homecoming Parade. Our Homecoming attendant was Carolyn Alberts. That year Mr. Enright was our advisor. We began our sophomore year with twenty-two members,but Allan Ruport dropped out leaving us with twenty-one. Several members of our class are in athletics, they are: David Spurbeck, Jerry Raddatz, Jim Maxson, Allen Lieferman, and David Parkin. We have one cheerleader from our class— Carolyn Alberts. Our quean attendant was Gwen Hansen. Those who have taken part in band are: Mary Lou Dunagan, Marcyne Leth, Jo Ellyn Taylor, Rita McAdams, Rosemary Bradford, Carolyn Alberts, Phyllis Buehler, Joy Wilcox, Nancy Stussy, and Coral Loken. Our class advisor is Mrs. Torgerson. H. S. The Sophomores honored us with an initiation party. The Homecoming Attendant for our class was Ardella Dunford. Our float won third prize. The Freshmen class advisor was Mr. Bartilson. Mr. Engen was our class advisor during our Sophomore year. As Sophomores we gave the Freshmen an initiation party. This year our float won second prize. Grace Kautz was our Homecoming Queen Attendant. In the Junior year Katherine Klinepier was Queen Attendant. November 20, our class presented New Fires , under the direction of Mrs. Torgerson. Katherine Ann Klinepier, Gail Peterson and Ardella Dunford were elected cheerleaders. Katherine Klinepier, Sandra Blatti, Barbara Smith and Alyce Morris are band members. Grace Kautz and Jackie Bartholomew are band majorettes. Edward Highum, John Fryer, George Schuck and Kay Zelinski par- ticipated in athletics. Class History The class of 57 composed of twenty-three members, en- tered M.H.S. in the fall of September, 1951. Our Homecoming attendant was Mary Jane Wytaske. Dianne Ruport was a cheer- leader from our class that year. Mr. Engen was our class advi sor. One year had gone by which made us eighth graders. Six new members joined our class which made the total of twenty-five. Our Homecoming Attendant was Gwen Loken. Our class advisor was Mr. Walters. Here we are finally freshmen, but weren't fully pledged until the twenty-third of October, wnen the soph- omores initiated us. What a day!11 (Don't laugh, eighth graders, it's your turn next year.) Unfortunately we did not win a prize on our float, but Judy Fryer was represent- ing our class as Homecoming Attendant. Shortly after, we lost three classmates, they having moved elsewhere—Bradley Jensen, Dennis Harcey, and Wayne Weidendorf. Four new mem- bers joined our class which totals twenty-six. Those part- icipating in various sports are: Paul Green, Danny Derby, Larry Lewis, and Walter Thompson. Those in band are: VaLane Grovdahl, Jacqueline Harris, Gwen Loken, Judy Fryer, Jean Sullivan, and Patricia Buehler. Hazel Stewart is a major- ette with the band. Cheerleaders from our class are Jean Sullivan,and VaLane Brovdahl.
