Hiat year as well as any other year,the biggest happening for as Green Freshman was initiation. We also were given a very nice party by our upper classmen, the Sophomores. Our class advisor was Miss Flores. After a three months summer vacation, our class took higher rank in school, as we were then Sophomores. We honored our lower class, the Freshman, with an initiation party. We ended the year with a formal party for the entire school. Our class advisor was Mrs. Oliphant. , The next grade on our slate of school years was the Junior year. The highlight of that year was our Junior Class Play entitled Where's Laurie . It was presented on November 22 and 23, under the direction of Mr. Robert Rainey. Our other interest was the Junior and Senior Banquet. The theme for our banquet was Old Mexico . Class advisor was Mrs. Englestad. On September 5 1950, our dream had finally come true. We had at long last become Seniors. Our first highlight ocoured on September 28, when we Journeyed to Owatonna to the Parkside Studio to have our graduation pictures taken . Hie big fall event was our Homeoomlng. Our float entry won first prize. Our class was represented by Donna Johnston and Donna Loquai as Co-Queens, and Margaret Stevenson as Queen Attendant. To make the day perfect we won our game with Dover. The great honor for our sohool was when Mantorville High won the Little Seven confer- ence football trophy. Hie three musiolans (band members) of our class are Donna Loquai, Marlene Glaus, and Donald Alberts. In Glee Club, we are represented by the six merry voices of Lorraine Oswald, Loretta O'Malley, Julia Weidendorf, Margaret Stevenson, Marlene Glaus, Donna Johnston, and pianist - Donna Loquai. Every boy in our class is out for sports. Hie Captain of our football team wss Don Alberts and the basketball- oaptain was Dale Glarner. Three boys in our class fought in the Golden Gloves at Rochester. They were Dick Cotten, Dale Glarner, and Harold Bartholomew. Katharine Tompkins, Julia Weidendorf, and Earle Lewis, represent our class in the Declam Club. We have four librarians in our Senior Class. They are Jim Hopkins, Earle Lewis, Marlene Glaus, and Donna Loquai. The two office girls are Frances Schuck and Lorraine Oswald. CLASS 7 1LL I, Marlene Glaus, will my love for Journalism to next years paper club staff, and my ability to be an angel in band to Bill Meeker. I, Dale Glarner, will my position in school to anyone who is low enough to orawl into it. I, Janette Stewart, will my ability to stay home at nights to Josephine Spurbeck, and my straight hair to Maroyne Leth. I, Harold Bartholomew, will my fly way ears to Mr. Boe so he oan get better gas mllaege on his Chrysler. I, Margaret Stevenson, will my ability to dance to orlo Baslington. I, Delores Paulson, will the little bit I learned in Physios back to Mr. Overby and my ability to stay out of the office to Phyllis Andrist. I, Riohard Cotten, will my excellent sohool ability to anyone who will take it without force. I, Lorraine Oswald, will my long hair to Donna Robbins, and my position in Glee Club to Maroyne Leth. I, Don Alberts, will my love for sports to Orlo Baslington and my wavy hair to Elmer Nelson. I, Eranoes Sohuck, will my helghth to Shortie Colburn, and my position in the offioe to Layonne Denny. I, Jim Hopkins, will my love for gum chewing to Mr. Odean. I, Donns Loquai, will my position as Glee Club Pianist to Katharine Klinepier, and my ability to make it to school on time to Riohard Holtan. I, Carl Evans, will my shortness to John Hunn. I, Donna Johnston, will my ability to talk so much to Janice Stafford. I, Katharine Tompkins, will my lock of natural blond hair to Josephine Spurbook. I, Earle Lewis, will my beard to Edward Highum, and my love for The Air Cadets to Mr. Taylor. I, Loretta O'Malley, will my shortness to Arlene Stafford, and my quiet- ness to Lavae Derby. I, Julia Weidendorf, will my ability to cut my hair to Dolly Hohenstein and my nights out to Layonne Dohrmann. JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1948, our freshman year, there were fifteen in our class. The day of Initiation was the big event of the freshman year. During the year Robert St. John, Edward Colburn, and LaVon Edison left us. Virginia Miller was our freshman Class queen attendant. In the Spring, the freshman Home Economics girls served the annual School Board Dinner. Jim Peterson and Rita Gourley left after they finished their freshman year. Our Sophomore year began with an unluoky number of thirteen students, but it really wasn’t unlucky. We honored the freshman with a Homecoming,Initiation Party. Marilyn Paulson and Virginia Miller, of the Sophomore Class, were ohosen as cheerleaders. At the end of the Sophomore year we lost two students, Melva Chilson and Jim Bungum, making a total of eleven. At last we were Juniors and were looking forward to receiving our class rings. They arrived at about the middle of October. Our next big event was our Junior Class Play, entitled My Hearts In High . It was direct- ed by Miss Norton. Joyoe Stewart was our Junior Class queen attendant. From that time on the sohool has never been the same. We were Initiated in September by the Sophomore Class. Arlene Alberts was the Queen of the sohool that year. Two of the girls in our olass were ohosen Cheer- leaders. They were Phyllis Johnston and Josephine Spurbeok. Some of the boys participated in the varioas sports, foot- ball, basketball, and baseball. Later that year we were Joined by Donna Grovdahl,formerly from Hayfleld. We honored the Sophomores with a pionio at the end of the year. Richard Dunford failed to return the following year. But we still had an even twenty with Donna Grovdahl. We had the privilege of initiating the Freshman. The Cheerleaders from our olass this year are Arlene Alberts and LaVae Derby. The boys have participated in sports all year. Our Homeoomlng attendant was Phyllis Andrist. Some of the olass presented a play for the benefit of school activities. FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY The class of 54 began high school September, 1950 with twenty-eight members. In October we lost two pupils Donna and Gordon Hyland. Hubert Anderson also left us in October, therefore we now have a total of twenty-five. On our Homecoming,we entered a float on which we work' ed very hard. Cur Homecoming attendant to the (ueen was Yoma Bio'''' We were initiated by the Sophomores and were given a very nice party. Some of the boys in our class went out for football and basketball.
