Keep your eye on the ball and not on the boys... follow through on your swing... put more slice on that serve... watch that line... Sunburns, long trips to other schools for matches held there, and long hours of practice after school all paid off in the end. This year marks the third consecutive Region Championship the girls tennis team walked off with. They also proudly represented Manti High School at the State Tournament in Provo by taking 2nd Place. The Girls Tennis Program at M.H.S. is four years young in existence yet four years old in growing experience.

November 4, 1978, a date to remember. Each girl at M.H.S. was able to prefer that special fuy for the Annual Autumn Ball sponsored by the .H.A. Robin Jorgensen was chairman of the semi-formal dance that was held at the Manti Armory. The gymnasium was transformed into a ballroom by simple but elegant decorations. Lydia Nibley romantically sang the theme song ' 'It's Time To Say 1 Love You'' and set the mood for many couples to dance the night away. Greg Anderson, Cameron Nielson, and Doug Larson were the Preferred Men for the occasion.
