Back Row: Mary' Denton; Lisa Larsen; Julie Green; Julie Robertson; VaNae Johnson; Kathy Miller. The Girls Basketball Team had its ups and downs during the past season. But overall they had a growing season. They were young but grew with experience. The early morning practices showed the dedication of each individual girl. Through courage and hardships they learned to cope with their losses and to find the strength to strive for the better. They thank those that found the time to support their games and look forward to seeing you next year. Mark Larson Brad Cox Lew Haslam Jed Breinholt Jon Warnick Coach Van Tassell Manti is well known for its outstanding wrestlers who do their job the best they can. Everyone gets involved in wrestling. Either you are a wrestler pinning your opponent on the mat, or a fan sitting in the stands and cheering for the Templars. No matter who you are, when you leave the gymnasium from a wrestling match you have pride in your team for you know they are the best ever and will always be number one.

J.V. Wrestling This year's J. V., next year's Varsity. The J.V. Wrestling Squad got off to a very good start by filling most of the weight categories— some even having two or three extra men. They all got down to the nitty gritty by starting to get in tip top shape so that wrestling for a total of 6 minutes would not fatigue them. Coach Van Tassell worked long and hard teaching all the moves to the young hopefuls. It was easy enough to do the different moves that Coach did but it was a completely different story when it came down to getting the moves with speed. The J V. Wrestlers went out on the mat with the one goal of winning and even when they lost didn't give up. Instead they diligently practiced each move over and over again with the hopes of pinning a victory for Manti High School.
