J.V. Basketball Experience. That is the name of the Junior Varsity game. Throughout this past season the J.V. boys have worked hard, played tough, fought proudly, and all for one thing— each one of the boys hopes to become a varsity player next year. Win or lose? egion VII Round Robin State Tournament Region VII Round Robin So. S«r 73 No. Sanpete 67 Juab e Tournament vasatch 55 61 Victories, as well as losses, have all been shared by our Varsity Basketball Team and the Templar fans. But the effort of all reached a maximum during the Region 7 Round Robin Tournament. Each man's dream was to capture honors for Manti High School. After a shaky start, the Mighty Templars gained a berth in the Utah 2-A State Tournament by taking 4th Place in Region 7. But that was not all—State Tournament brought new surprises for all. In Manti's final game of the year, the Templars met Richfield head-on to revive an old rivalry that capitalized last year at the final game of the 1977 State Tournament. The Templars closed their season by taking 5th Place in State after a heartbreaking loss to Richfield by the narrow margin of 61-60.
