liture As we entered the doors of MHS for the first time, we felt green and in- experienced in the new venture we were making. As sophomores we began charting our course that we planned to follow on our voyage through high school. We layed the foundation for our education by the classes in which we enrolled. Yes ... we began to load our rocket ship and prepare for the take-off. By the time we returned to MHS as juniors, we had gained the knowledge and made the calculations necessary in making this space travel to the moon. By putting this knowledge to work, we were successful in launching our rocket ship and beginning the voyage through space. Toward the end of our junior year, we began to see the progress we had made. Now our goal . . . the moon . . . seemed very near. Having completed these steps in previous years, in '58 and '59 we again returned to MHS. We were seniors at last. Through the aid of the knowledge we have gained during our junior and sophomore years, we have been able to land our rocket safely on the moon. Our long awaited vision is now a reality. We have reached our first goal — our first stepping stone. Our first voyage is completed and we have a firm foundation from which we can make our next voyage on into the future, toward bigger, better, and still higher goals. -1-
