Text from Pages 1 - 84 of the 1958 volume:

O' school mates raise the cry that shall pierce the blue on high . . . Yes, let's sing, for ours is golden opportunity. The world is ours! What are we going to do with it? First we must realize our responsibility. Then we will work and study so we will be qualified to accept this responsibility. But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We will make this a well balanced world. But whether we work or play, we will put forth our best effort at all times. We will play our rolls in this world to the best of our ability. We will perform with all the enthusiasm, vim, and vigor of youth. We will do all these things With a Song in Our Hearts. Presented by the Manti High School 1957-58 Advisor — George V. During the past year the Manti Lions Club played a major roll in reviving and managing the San- pete County Fair. Manti Lions met with the County Commissioners to urge them to include the Fair in their 1957 budget and offered to help organize the Fair Board. The Manti Lions Club then brought together the other six Lions Clubs in Sanpete County and together they formed committees, did untold hours of work and put over a very successful Fair. This had a great in- fluence in bringing the communities of the county closer together and proved that people do want and enjoy a County Fair. In past years the Manti Lions Club has built a fine fireplace in the City Park; got its members to- gether to re-fence Community Camp; aided in fencing Milk Creek Camp ground; built and improved an ice skating pond, and sponsored summer baseball for boys. The Manti Lions Club is now looking forward to a project of heating the Manti Swimming Pool, which will add much to the value of the pool and the com- fort of the swimmers. This will probably be a joint effort for the City, Lions and other clubs, with the Manti Lions leading the way. Harvard Adams Jennis Allred Leslie J. Anderson Maurice Barnett George A. Barton Lee R.
