Christmas festivities started off at AAHS by the student body officers placing a beautiful Christ- mas tree in the hall. The Christmas spirit was carried on by the AAanti High School chorus presenting its concert at the Center Ward Dec- ember 19th. The day school let out for the holidays who should appear in our assembly but jolly old Saint Nick himself with presents in his bag, rumpled hair for the boys, and kisses for the girls.

To officially proclaim the member- ship of the Freshmen into the high school, gleeful suffering of ini- tiations was imposed on the green- ies by their masters the Sopho- mores. To the glow of candlelight, the atmosphere of Hernando's Hide-a- way was portrayed by the Freshie Hop. Peals of laughter rang out from the auditorium as Miss Marble and Mr. Antrei sang and did a hilarious pantomime to Make Love to Me in the Faculty Assembly. Mr. Steinkert de- lighted the group as he played on the piano, novel versions of Jingle Bells. Mantinee dances were enjoyed at various times during the school year. -11-

Bishop Doran The Senior's novel idea of a Lemon Squeeze became a reality on January 19. In spite of the sour lemons the dance was a hit, one of the last to be added to the Senior's list. -13- A few of the fine articles made by the students in shop. On December 23 the Seniors presented their annual Senior Ball under the theme of the Black Widow Ball. The gym was decorated with spider webs and with a large black widow spider claiming the north west corner.
