SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE The purpose of education, both within and outside of the schools, is to develop in each individual the knowledge, ideals, and habits, where- by he will find his place in society and use that place for the better- ment of all. I hope we may all work to this end and that this book will serve as an inspiration to help achieve this purpose. Superintendent Maurice Barnett Principal Bruce Jennings PRINCIPALS MESSAGE This Clarion is a very thorough and honest effort to record the scenes, the events and the personalities of the school year in a way that will recall them to us in the days to come. In the years before us we will turn to these pages again and again for the refreshment and inspiration that mem- ories can give us. The record of this year is written in another place than the yearbook; it is also written in the minds and char- acters and personalities of each of us. It has been a year full of opportunity, of activity and of friendliness. And I am sure each of us has profited by the school year in direct proportion to our participation in it. My wish for each of us is that this book may ever serve to recall the worthwhile experiences we have had and the friendships we have enjoyed during the 1951-52 school year. —9—
