A., Univ. ofGuana- juato The Art Education Department, one of the newest of curricula offered at Mansfield State College, obtained approval from the De- partment of Public Instruction to institute a program for the prepara- tion of art teachers September 1, 1967. Currently there are thirty- four students majoring in art education. The center of instructional activities for the prospective artist -teachers is the second floor of Allen Hall containing classrooms, oil and ceramics studios, and of- fices. S., Univer- sity of Oklahom a Special Education The Department of Special Education aims at providing teachers to instruct the type of exceptional child who is mentally retarded. By working in conjunction with the Elementary and Secondary Educa- tion Departments, the present program enables students to have an area of concentration in Special Education. Thus graduates are pre- pared to teach both Special Education and their major area in secon- dary or elementary education.
