Secondary Education The Secondary Education Curriculum provides the twofold preparation needed by the high school teacher: first, the liberal education, and second, the professional. For the liberal education, and for the degree of specialization required for certifi- cation, the secondary curriculum is serviced by the academic department. For the professional education, students receive instruction in history and philosophy of edu- cation, psychological principles underlying learning theory, techniques and methods of instruction, and seminars for discussion of the problems confronting teachers. This sequence is culminated by a full semester of off-campus student teaching. EUCHARD FIN LEY Chairman Associate Professor; B.S. , Pennsyl- vania State University; M.
