The Wolverines made a good showing all through the game, but the Class 2-AA District Champions emerged the final victors Game Captains: JAMES GARY MOORE and FRANK 1.oLLARqBossierp BOBBY LAMBERT and KARL HEMPHILL SCOTT BROWN TOMMY CALHOUN 2 Year Letterman 1 Year Letterman Senior - Back Sophomore - End Mansfield 26 - Winnfield 0 Redeeming themselves from their only defeat of the 1957 season, the Wolverines scored a decisive victory over the Winnfield Tigers. Two of the four Wolverine scores were made in the first period. The final two scores were made by an 82 yard punt return and a 20 yard run. Game Captains: ELEX MONSOUR and ALFRED HARRIS DOUGLAS COPELAND DENNIS FLENIKEN 1 Year Letterman 1 Year Letterman Senior - Back Senior - Guard Mansfield 26 - Landry Memorial O The Mansfield Wolverines pushed together all of their points in the first half and made them stand up for a one-sided victory over Landry Memorial of Lake Charles. The Wolves semed to have the right kind of spirit to go all the way in the district. The team played with determination to the last second of the game. Game Captains: DICK PETERSON DOUGLAS COPELAND KARL HEMPHILL CHARLES JOHNSON 4 Year Letterman l Year Letterman Senior - Back Sophomore - Back Mansfield 47 - St. John's '7 The Mansfield Wolverines roared to a smashing vic- tory over the St. John 's outmanned Blue Flyers. The Wolves took the opening kick-off and marched 65 yards in 10 plays for the first of seven touchdowns. Game Captains: DENNIS FLENIKEN CHARLES ARNOLD BOBBY LAMBERT FRANK LOLLAR 2 Year Letterman 8 Year Letterman Senior - Guard Senior - Center Mansfield 26 - La Salle 14 The Mansfield Wolverines swamped the La Salle Tigers for another conference win. Although the score was tied at halftime, the local team came back to score two touchdowns with a 62-yard run, a punt recovered in the end zone and a pass in the end zone.
