24 Volleyball : : : ' : : ' : } Volleyball Has Best Year Ever The Tyger varsity volleyball team, led by third year coach, Kathy Reed, had a record breaking season. The team had Q record of nine wins and nine losses which set a new school record for best season. Showing feamwork and determination the girls jumped into a five game winning steak. The Lady Tygers enjoyed the sweet tastes of victory over powerhouses Clearfork, Col- onel Crawford, and Shelby. Seniors Jeanetta Lamb, Sherry Demoise, Gay Holmes and Angie Gardner provided the leadership for the Tygers and saw plenty of action. Juniors Mamie Ramsay and Toi Hatch, along with sophomore Tyanne Blaising, will provide the varsity team with a sound base next year. Tyger awards went to Jeanetta Lamb and Sherry Demoise for Co-captain duties and Jeanetta Lamb for most points served. The junior varsity team cap- tured second p lace in the Lex- ington Tourney, defeating Malabar and Madison. Co- captains were sophomore Susan Bottorf and freshman Lisa Tuttle. Leading scorer was Chris Rapheal with 116. Luann Krichbaum was recognized for being the first to serve 14 straight points for Senior High. The Junior Varsity finished the regular season at 8-10. 26 Cross Country and Golf CC Back on the Run Golfers Tee Off The Tyger Golf team finished this season with a 3-18 record. They placed 5th in the Mansfield Tournament and 11th in the sectionals. Leading the Tygers was Coach Dick Henry. The Mansfield Senior High Cross Country team came back from a one year lay-off after the team had been cancelled because of lack of interest. The team was under the helm of first year Coach Bob Neuman, who planned the rebuilding of a new look in the harriers. Again the program faced lack of participation and settled with five promising young men who hope to excell next season. Awards went to ‘Duke”’ Barker, Most Valuable, and Tim Peterson, Most Improved.
