Reserves Have Winning Season The Reserve Volleyball team had the first winning season of any volleyball team at Senior High. With a record of 16 wins and 4 losses, the team scored the most points and won more games and matches than any volley team in previous years. The team’s coach, Mr Wayne Au, stated, “All players played an important role whether they started or were substitutes.” The varsity team, coached by Kathy Reed, a teacher at John Simpson Middle School, finished the season with a record of 2 wins and 19 losses. One of the highlight games of the season was the assembly game against Madison when the Tygers won two of three matches Phyllis Parker and Jody Pollman were named the leading scorers, and Jackie Marchell was named leading spiker for the Reserve team. The Varsity awards went to Cindy Shafer, most valuable player; Sherry Smallstey, most points; and Toi Hatch, most improved 22

Golfers Have Disappointment The 1981 Tyger Golf team had a discouraging season, ending with an 0-12 record. They finished 6th in the Mansfield Tournament, 8th in the Buckeye conference, and 11th in the sectionals, beating Tiffin Columbian. Steve Sidle, a junior, received the medalist award for his second straight year. Richard Bazley received the most improved award. Leading the golfers this year was Coach Dick Henry. Bl RM AM ARE
