Seniors Take Honors The class of 82 took over MHS at the end of Class Day activities on May 26, by Kevin Elkins accep- ting the gavel from Lynell Bryant. Valedictorian and salutatorian were Robert Fischer and Melanie Bernhardt, respectively. They were also named the outstanding senior boy and girl by the Univer- sity Club. The top ten percent of the class received gold cords and tassels. Kristine Anderson, Russell Holmes and Steve Pollman were winners of the Principal’s Award. Russell Holmes and Linda Givand were the winners of the Pete Henry Award. The Bausch-Lomb Award was presented to Norine Daughty. Mechanic Trades Award went to Gary Crawford and Nick Brandt took the Trigonometry honor. Electronics went to James Ousley and Advanced Comp. and American History went to Tony Feagin.

On January 15, 16, 1nd 17th, the Drama Dept: put on a per- formance of “One Act Ensem- ble.”” The show contained 4-one act plays, and each play was directed by a drama student. “Asylum,” directed by Tony Yetzer, was a story about life in a mental institution. “Impromptu,” directed by Debbi Anderson, portrayed 2 actors and 2 actresses who were put on stage to construct a play without letting their true selves show through. “The American Dream,”’ directed by Kristine Anderson, was a comedy about family liv- ing, but behind the lines it por- trayed how the elderly are mistreated. “The Lottery,” directed by Ed Wielde, was a story about the annual lottery in a normal every day town. Unfortunately the winner at the lottery gets stoned. The Drama Club came into existence this year and spon- sored car washes to raise money for the Drama Productions. They held an awards banquet Friday, May 22nd. Officers were Debbi Anderson, presi- dent; Robin Cochran, secretary; Vicki Danas, treasurer; Rachel Kick, historian; and Tony Yetzer, Thespian Officer. Mr. Asher advises the newly formed club. 25
