Super Studio 80 V.V. Theme The Senior Class sponsored this year’s Varsity Varieties on the evening of November 8 and 9, playing to packed houses both nights. Over 100 Senior High students participated in the event. The theme took place ina newsroom, with the opening song “Welcome To The Newsroom,” sung by Brian Williams. The newscasters led into each act as if it were a news story! Sue Hilliard, Cheryl Chitwood, Kim Watson, Kim Elkins, Ed Avery, Shelly Etzel, and Jody Bishop were Emcees. The Director of the successful Varsity Varieties was Marilyn Irey, and her assistant was Kim Elkins. Tebara Blaising served as producer, and Matt Todd was Art Director. Mr. Gross and Mrs. Lewis were the weary Advisors. The stage band, made up of Steve Purvis on drums, Jeff Jones on bass guitar, and Vernon Hairston on piano, provided accompaniment for many of the acts. Mr. Hall and the Jazz Band entertained during intermission and before the show.
