Class Of 1976 Works Hard For Success In the fall of 1973 a group of new students came to Mansfield Senior High for the first time. They formed the Class of 1976. Chosen as leaders for the sophomore year were Robert Avery, presi- dent, Isaac Robinson, vice-president; Mary McGraw, secretary; and Liz Woods, treasurer. Advisors were Miss Shafer and Mr. Campbell. Projects included a candy sale and the student- faculty volleyball game. Homecoming was the highlight of the junior year. Cindy Weirich was crowned queen, and the theme chosen was “You Are the Sunshine of My Life”. New officers elected were Julie Clay, president; Julie Jackson, vice-president; Cheryl Rodriguez, secretary; and Liz Woods returned as treasurer. Mrs. Hane replaced Miss Shafer as an advisor. Senior year saw the production of Varsity Varieties and a most successful citrus sale at Christmas. Julie Clay was crowned queen of the J.C. Gorman Tournament. Class Day, the prom, and Commencement held the best memories of all. The class prospered under the leadership of Cheryl Rodriguez, president; Kathy Elkins, vice- president; Brenda Hamblin, secretary; and Deb- bie Bowers, treasurer.
