INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIPS The American Field Service, which pays part of the expenses of the foreign student and provides housing for him, is one of the school ' s most praise¬ worthy organizations. In order to obtain their needed money, A. F. S. had a money-making project nearly every month this past year. They sold A. F. S. folders and ribbon candy, had a surprise day, and sponsored a dance, a car wash, and a bake sale. Their advisor was Mr. Beal and their officers were Dick Whitney, president; Jean Bryner, vice president; Peg Adams, secretary; Ingrid Wilhelm, treasurer; Karen Holmes, Americans Abroad chairman; Rose Timan, publicity chairman; and Grace Ford, housing chairman. In order to promote international good will among participating countries, A. F. S. selects an American to travel overseas under the auspices of the Americans Abroad program. Congratulations on a successful project. i Mr. Beal, Timan, Bryner, Adams, Holmes, Whitney. 102
