SENIOR BAND Thrs year saw the creatron of a new department at M H S the Musrc Depart ment under the drrectnon of Mr Owre An lmportant umt of thrs department has been the Semor Band From a modest start In the Fall the Band has developed tnto one of the fmest muslcal groups rn North Central Washlngton and has contrnbuted rn many ways to the commumty scene Its actnvxtxes are many and varred and rt has been called upon to furmsh musrc by groups rangmg from rellgrous organrzatxons to basketball squads The flrst Concert was held October 19 at Mansfreld followed by a performance for the play Poor Papa The band played an nmportant part rn the Christmas pro gram The Wmter Concert held March 5 was the htghlxght of the years actlvrtles but by all means not the last The Band was asked to partrcrpate rn the annual Com munrty Playday sponsored by the Commercral Club and to perform at the Commence ment Ceremonres Actxvltnes were not conflned to Mansfleld The Band toured to schools through out North Central Washington and partrcrpated rn Music Festrvals at Ephrata and Wenatchee It has been an eventful year a year of hard work but also a year of fun Mans freld can be proud of the splendrd way rn whrch the Band has entered mto the com munrty GLEE CLUB Oh Smg Your Songs And Srng Them Well' In Accent Clean Oh' Smg Your Songs' Thrs has been the functlon of the Glee Club another xmportant orgamzatron of the Department of Mustc Organrzed rn the fall of the year the group has developed mto a muslcal un1t that ns mcreasmgly ln demand rn both the school and the commumty Actxvltxes have been many and varted smgnng both at home and m other schools and functlons throughout North Central Washmgton The flrst contrlbuuon of the Glee Club to the Mansfreld scene was the Concert on October 19 A major share of the credrt for success of the Chrlstmas program goes to th1s orgamzatnon and agatn on the Wmter concert on March 5 they helped to sat rsfy the mustcal appetltes of the commumty Srngmg rs mdeed a pleasure but smg mg l1ke the Glee Club smgs enhances that pleasure a hundredfold .391 u .-, ' , . .
