0 QR -Q K DRILL TEAM DRILL TEAM AND GIRLS SPORTS The drill team is a function of the FI HI GI The purpose of the team is to en tertain the spectators during the half time of the home ball games and to provide an activity for the girls Evelyn Bowers was elected drill captain. The team consisted of twenty two girls from the seventh, eighth, and high school grades. Kaye Wax and Lorriane Bayless ac- companied on the drums. The team drilled at five home games and at the county tour- nament at Waterville. The uniforms were red sweaters, white collars and navy blue skirts, which looked very neat. The drill team practiced during the girls Physical Education period. This was their main activity during the first semester. The girls bought new gym outfits consisting of white blouses and shorts. They received them at the beginning of the second semester. During the final weeks of the 1954 school year the girls began to brush up on their volleyball, badminton and softball. They were getting ready for the FI-HI-GI play day held in April. This day consisted of playing volleyball, softball and badminton with the girls from the surrounding schools. ha yor .ms - - 128.
