‘6n e 3ine Arts of Writing Speaking The journalism class works in class to accomplish many things: to write articles, to read from the text book, to discuss newspapers and how they are run, to work on the annual, and to do anything else that concerns writing or journalism. Journalism work cannot always be done in a classroom. Here journalism students work in the office typing, getting pictures ready for thr annual, and running odd jobs that must be done. Mrs. Holbrook, speech arts teacher, stands in front of the speech class giving instructions to the class. This class takes notes, does the senior play, and has parts in all types of programs and assemblies. A required part of the speech work is getting up in front of the class to give a speech that you have thought up and prepared. Here Jan Quick is shown delivering a speech that she has prepared, to the students in the class.

Curriculum To meet the needs ol the more than 300 boys and girls enrolled, Mansfield offers a variety of curricular studies and activities. All students cannot participate in as many subjects as they would like but the school does its best to accommodate the larger part of the enrollment. This year has been a greater success because of the new educational facilities w hich have been provided. The new environment has made it much easier for the students to study and for the teachers to do their jobs. Gnglisfi The senior high Knglish teacher.
