THE TIGER OF 1957 MANSFIELD ALMA MATER Mansfield, We thy children Sing thy praise today For thy tender love and care We'll be loyal to thee for aye When we are far from thee All our thoughts shall be with you And loyal hearts shall praise thee Mansfield, We'll be true Oh, Mansfield High, Oh, Mansfield High Where Poteau's Mountains reach the sky For thee we'll sigh and shed a tear Our Alma Mater, Dear. FOREWORD To the membersof the annual staff of 1957, the work on the TIGER has given both pleasure and profit. In this year's issue of the TIGER we have tried to show the real spirit of our high school in all its activities and curricula. To bring this about, it was necessary to have the cooperation of the entire student body. Especially do we thank those pupils who were prompt in having their pictures made and prompt in purchasing their annual, thereby making possible its financial success. Last but not least, we thank those business concerns who have advertised in the 1957 TIGER. Without their cooperation and patronage the annual could not have been published. Believe, without growing too scornfully proud. That you, as the greatest and least are endowed. A mind to do thinking, two hands and two eyes Are all the equipment God gives to the wise. Believe in yourself! You're divinely designed And perfectly made for the work of mankind. This truth you must cling to through danger and pain; The heights man has reached you can also attain. Believe to the very last hour, for it's true. That what ever you will you've been gifted to do. Believe in yourself and step out unafraid. By misgivings and doubt be not easily swayed. Full blooming flowers alone will not do, Some must be young and ungrown. So the frail buds He is gathering too, Beautiful gems of His throne. Father and mother weep not or be sad. Still on the Savior rely. You shall behold her again and be glad Beautiful flowers on high. Blooming in beauty in heaven is she. Blooming for you and for me. Follow the Lord, tho’ the City be far. Till our bright blossom we see. Gathering buds, gathering buds. Wonderful care will be given, Jesus is gathering day after day Buds for the palace of heaven. v.
