Homecoming: 1983 Spirits were high on the evening of October 14 after the homecoming assembly was held early that morning. The mood of confidence was spread among the students, faculty and alumni. Our Mustangs were enjoying their finest season ever and were tied for first place in the district, sporting a 5-1 record. But victory evaded the Mustangs as the Tigers of Oscar Smith handed the Mustangs a 10-0 defeat. Although that was a big blow to the Mustang pride, it did not completely destroy the homecoming spirit. Last year’s homecoming king and queen, Kenny Jones and Dana Brown came back to support the Mustangs. The Art Club won the float competition and Dexter Ferguson and Sheresé Boone were crowned as the new king and queen.
