AFS Club This year has been a busy year for AFS. During these past twelve months, the AFS club has participated in many activities including the Manning AFS Weekend and the AFS Carnival. Both functions were a great success not only profit wise but also from the point of providing a better understanding of the varying cultures which ex- ist throughout the world. The main purpose of our association is to get students interested in the activities of AFS, and in so doing broaden their aspects of life. Being a member enables these students to come in contact with teenagers of other countries and by being associated with them, provides a bond between both countries con- cerned. Each year the club organizes a weekend, where exchange students from the surrounding area are invited to spend the weekend in the homes of several student members. This year we had students from Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Chile and Great Britain. This year also marks the selection of Mark Sextro to participate in a summer program to Venezuela.
