We, the class of 1965, dedicate this yearbook to Jody Dyer, a classmate who we wish could share with us the memories of our last year in high school. Jody, we have not forgotten -- . . . your warm smile that filled the halls of M.l-I. S. , . . . your relating of a funny anecdote or an exciting expe- rience that made all feel at ease around you, . . your perserverance, . . and your radiant personality that within five months made you the favorite of your class. 2 The annual staff dedicates this, the 1965 issue of THE BISONIAN, to Miss Hazel Edwards. We would like to express our appreciation for -- . . . her deep interest in the student body of M.H. S. , . . her dedicated hours spent teaching not only math-- ematics but also the importance of scholarship, lead ership, and citizenship, . . her sincere encouragement for each student to strive just a little harder, . . and her hours spent chaperoning school activities. 3 Y E A R B 0 0 K 4 EDITOR: Gloria Gonzales. WGROUP CHAIRMAN - me-4' We, the annual staff, have attempt -' ed to reproduce the sites ol Mannheim that have grown most dear to those who have lived in this city -- sites where we have spent memorable hours. These places will remain in our mem- ories many years after we have re- turned to our homes which a re scat- tered over the vast United States. The Jesuit Church where at Christ- mas time people from all over come to see the beautiful manger . . . the Wasserturm, the symbol of Mannheim . . . Planken, Mannheim's main street, where fashionable shops lured the rich American teens . . . the Na- tional Theater, where such operas as CARMEN and AIDA were enjoyed by Mannheim High's dramatists . . . the Palace, where the Seniors walked down the aisles for the last time. This book, filled with reflections could not have been produced without the untiring aid of our yearbook advisor, Miss Brenda Travis, he r pa- tience, and helpful hints carried us over rough days with ease. Also, we would like to extend our gratitude to Mr. Rene Carrera for the art work on the inside cover pages. Now let us take a tour through Mann heim and our high school . . . lil t i 5 A D M 1 N 5 T R A T I 1 O Q N f Robert J. Platenberg, Principal State University of Iowa B. S. XM. A. Administration Dennis R. Shaw, Vice-Principal General Beadle State Teachers College South Dakota State College B. S. XM. Ed. They, the administration, the counselors, the faculty, have led us to the doors of knovvledgeg they have taught us to open them, but it is now our task to go through them alone. What will await us there? We must take the chance, enter, and face the World with strength. To the administration and faculty, we extend our deepest gratitude for the devotion they have given us as individuals and as a group. It is they that have put meaning into this, the l964-65 school year. 8 General Superintendent Superintendent of Schools of Schools, DEG District XI Dr. R. M, O'Kane Dr. Richard H.
