A Busy, Busy Time of Year HOMECOMING, OCTOBER 13, 1973. The culmination of many days preparation was on a warm, windy fall day, and it made it all worthwhile. The anticipation of the big game and dance prodded many of us toward the first big event of the school year. The Student Council made the plans, and everybody had a part--cheerleaders decorating the football field, classes making floats, townspeople and organizations making floats, grade school children decorating bicycles, parents sacrificing, teachers and administration put into a turmoil, and it was worth it. School was dismissed at noon and last minute parade details were taken care of. At 1:30 the parade went through town and back. There were many entrees and many onlookers. Our football season that evening was not marred as we defeated Walnut, our arch-rival, by 32-22. After the game, we danced to The Pepperidge and at 10:30 saw Dennis Hartz and Sherri Oloff-90n crowned King and Queen. Homecoming is probably the social highlight of our school year, and with everyone putting a great deal of effort into it, it was a resounding success. 14
