DEDICATION MR. AND MRS. VERNON MARTIN We, the DEVIL staff, respectfully dedicate this 1964 DEVIL to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Martin, transportation managers for the school unit. During twenty-four years of excellent service to the school system, the transportation department, under the leadership of Vernon and Lucille, has never had an accident. This excellent record has been maintained although many, many trips for the various extracurricular activities have been made in foul weather and under bad conditions. Vernon started in school transportation service in 1940 for (District No. 56) Manlius Grade School before the Unit was started. Vernon drove his own personal car (a 7 passenger Packard) purchased for this purpose, as a bus. Lucille drove as a relief driver. They made two trips each morning and two trips each afternoon. Lucille started driving a route regularly in 1942 and operated the route for one term while Vernon was in the service. She drove, with the exception of one year, until ihe Unit was started. Vernon has been transportation manager of the Unit since April, 1952. Lucille has been a steady driver since this time. Between the two of them, they have been employed by the school since 1940, with the exception of one year. 2

The school board gives freely of its time to offer advice and assistance whenever necessary. Without the help of this group, our school would not and could not run efficiently and successfully. ADMINISTRATION Mr. Floyd, our superintendent, had a very busy year keeping our school running smoothly. He was always ready to help any student with a problem.
