pwfffwv As we enter the prosperous community of Manlius, Illinois, in 1983, we find that there are two sides to this bright community, the East Side and the West Side. The East side illustrates the old-fashioned way of living. We find that most of the members of the class of 1958 live in the West side of town because they believed in living for the future. The West side of town runs all the way to a canal where ocean- going liners now make their way to Manlius, but the East side has remained where it is because it would cost too much money to move the city limits out any farther. We find that the mayor of this bustling community is James Rashid. He learned to run things while at MHS. As we drive down the Manlius Freeway we meet two of our former classmates, Glenn and Wayne, in their Rassmobile, the car of the future. They have turned out cars by hand faster than Detroit ever did. We also find that the employ Larry Jo as their chief painter. He 's the creator of those famous six-tone paint jobs. As we turn off the Freeway we see the Cape Manlius Space Ship Proving Grounds. We find Alan as the main head of the Proving Grounds with Sonny as the chief test pilot and Ron, the chief mechanic and rocket expert. No organization can operate efficiently without the well-known office girls. So it is with the U.S. Government. It has Karen, Mary, Carol, and Jane as their highly trained and efficient workers. They learned how to be efficient in Mr. Lager 's shorthand class. As we fly down the street where all the married people live, we see Rachel, an Air Force wife with her four little guided-missles flying around in the front yard. We also see Jeanne, A Navy wife with eight little ships in her front yard. Another classmate, Donna, has also joined the ranks of the happily wed. Farther down the street we see that the Ann Ericson Ballroom is headlining, as the feature attraction, Emma Jean and her world-famous Rock and Roll Trio. Also employed at Ann 's Ballroom is Skip Wood, the great comedian, who has appeared at the Coca-Capana for the fabulous period of two years without leave, and is now ending this amazing record, Jerry, the top movie actor and man about town with the teenagers, has made '75 top movies and won '74 academy awards. The only one in which he didn 't earn an award was when he played the role of the hero who didn 't win the girl. That just broke his heart! Art, another classmate, can still be seen in the East side of town riding a horse, for he believes that horses are safer than the new-fangled inventions. Marvin is still the leader of the Harlem Spacetrotters and has performed 20 years without stopping. I-le has also played with the Chicago Cubs for a period of 25 years. Connie and Letha are married and each has five kids. They live in the Bel Aires section of Manlius. Their husbands are the oil tycoons of the Universe. We find in the industrial part of Manlius that Squeek has taken over the Kraft Foods Plant and is putting out more of Chesney 's Cheap Chewy Cheeses faster than ever before. We also see that Nyla owns Nyla's Nifty Knitting Co. and employs Sharon and Carolyn, the two old maids of our class. They specialize in making cheerleaders' uniforms. So as we leave this bright community of Manlius, Illinois, we 've seen that each of the class of 1958 has been successful in his own way. 1.6
