1952 Class Prophecy I C ontimzed J We went hurriedly on and were still searching for a hotel room when we found a swanky place owned and operated by Roberta johnson. We asked if we might spend the night and then we inquired about the night entertainment of Manlius. We were undecided as to whether to attend Judy Cook's concert, Gyles Gish's new bowling alley which doesn't need pin setters, or the Ohio-Manlius game. Ronnie Hewitt, a Little Eight Star of 52 was coaching the Red Devils. But before we could decide, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Clementz had learned of our arrival in town and asked us to help them celebrate their tenth wedding anni- versary. Mrs. Clementz, or janet Vandermoon, told us that Shirley Pont had taken a position as head nurse of the hospital. We were looking for the weather report in the local newspaper when we noticed Janet Salzmann was the editor - janet received her experience while she was editor of the school paper, The Reflectorf, Before leaving Manlius we decided to look at the new high' school. While we were wandering through the building we saw Bobby Lind. He told us he was now head instructor of the Ag department. As time was going fast, we decided we had better start for home. While we were driving out of the city, we noticed a neon sign flashing Gumfory's Junk Yard. Carl always did have an eye for old cars. Sam Eth- eridge, a former classmate, was visiting Carl. Sam told us he was employed by the Wrigley Chewing Gum Co. His job was testing the flavor of the gum - he had experience in this line before leaving M.H.S. I left Norma at her home in Walnut just in time to prepare supper for her family. I then started back to my home in Chicago. This is the last of the Class of 52. Any resemblance to persons living, dead, or otherwise is purely intentional. Anyone wishing to write to the authors of this should address their letters to Frances Coggins or Norma Hartz.
