Senior Class History On August 29, 1948, 27 freshmen started their career at Manlius High School. We struggled through the first year under the supervision of Mr. Keist, principal, Mr. Rice, Mr. Davidson, Mr. Veach, Mr. Fay, Rev. Zeltin, Miss Code, Mrs. Loos, and Miss Coleman. Our first few weeks were spent in getting acquainted with other classmates, and getting to the proper classes on time. The initiation took place the second week of school. During the day we unwillingly performed before the entire student body, and that evening the seniors gave us a party which completely made up for the day's sufferings. For the first year we had as our class officers: president, jerry Dablerg vice president, Annevieve Schmidt, secretary and treasurer, Ronnie Hewitt, student council, Norma Hartz and Dick Crane. Our sponsor was Mr. Rice. During our freshman year Minnie Hodge and Margaret Schmitt joined our happy throng, but Alice Pope and Mary Carlson left us, thus making a total of 27. In the fall of '48, as sophomores, we marched back into Manlius High. Our teachers for this year were Mr. Keist, principal, Mr. Rice, Mr. David- son, Mr. Veach, Mr. Fay, Mr. Schollc, Rev. Zeltin, Miss Rita johnson, Miss Code, Mrs. Yates, and Miss Coleman. Officers chosen for this ear were: resident, Annevieve Schmidt' vice Y U , president, Norma Hartz, secretary and treasurer, Frances Cogginsg student coun- cil, Joanne Hewitt and Ronnie Hewitt. Mr. Scholle was our sponsor. Being sophomores, our social privileges were increased. The first of these social affairs was our class dance. This dance proved to be a huge success. Spin Lawrence provided the music for this gala affair. This year we lost Dick Crane, Robert Hanson, Marvin Frank, and Gloria Henson. Marjorie Eickmeier came from Bureau Township to increase our class roll to 21. As jolly juniors we entered the doors of Manlius High in the fall of '50. This year we have only 21 members. ,
