CLASS HISTORY The sun was danctng drzzlly to twenty f1ve fr1ghtened Freshmen as they hesltantly made thetr way up the walk toward the school house Ross Ltlhan Loretta Beverly and George Twtdell lwho has smce left usl held hands to comfort one another and get over the fxrst frtght Another group was very confrdently runnmg up and down sta1rs They were the town klds Donna Lee Beulah Dorts Lee L1zz1e Vallera Alberta and Lots Castel They were very anxlously scannmg the ranks of the mcomlng Freshmen and upper class men for boy fr1ends Theyd gone to school wlthout boys long enough They soon met two boys from New Bedford Roland and Dtck They dldnt look much luke prospecttve boy frlends The rest of the group were from nerghbortng rural schools We llved ln fear and trembltng for two weeks and then we really hook espectally Preston who really klcked up a fuss Bllly Ethertdge got a day ahead of hxmself and wore a dress on Thursday Mr Rtce came to hrs rescue Our teachers made a great tmpresslon on us that year They were mos ly new too M1ss Wendllng taught our General Busmess Mtss Newman taught us Enghsh Mr Rxce taught the boys Ag Mtss Powell had the gtrls tn Home Ec Mr Bohles as coach attempted to get the creaks out of the farm boys yolnts Mr Ammon was our gutdmg law and order When we returned two members fldence ln ourselves and got to help somebody We kept the place merry the outstandmg event for us was the What a mlstaken ldeal MISS Love was Home Ec teacher was our Mustc teacher also teach1ng Mtss Newman was our Englxsh teacher Mr lensen Geometry on the slde Mr Theus trled to tmpress u of our class were absent We had a lot more con 1l'Ill1Gle the Freshmen We really thought we were w1th our sllly Sophomore giggles After Chrlstmas arrrval of lack Henson who we thought was quxet wxth l-lrstory and as coach trled to teach the boys to be physlcal leaders Mr Rlce helped the boys along wxth thetr Vacatronal Agrtculture Mr Ammon was agaln the man we went to when we got 1nto trouble Af er the short summer we returned to school agam thus ttme as Iumors We thought we were awful smart but we couldnt seem to make anyone else thmk so although we trred hard to g1ve our new teachers and pr1nc1pal that 1mpress1on Enghsh seemed to be our Waterloo espectally after lack who had completely outgrown hrs Mousy char actertsttcs trted to present the teacher with a book How to Teach Englxsh whxch she dxdn t to the whlch left at seem to apprec1ate He wasnt very readtly forgtven for that l1ttle act erther Trxps offlce were many and frequent We gave a play Aaron Sllck from Punkm Crxck was a success fThanks to Mlss Van Ormerll One teacher couldnt stand us and the mtddle of the year and the next one we drsrllustoned for hfe We had constant warfare wrth the Sentors who thought pretty well of themselves We sure beat them on one score and they took thetr bookkeeplng test The h1gh ltght of the year was the lunlor Senlor Banquet at Sterltna Also the lumors and Senlors went to see the show Wllson at the Apollo Theater tn Pr1nceton Mr Moore was our gurdmg star and we provoked htm plenty He dtdnt parttcularly appreclate lacks constant appearances and the frequent appearances of others tn the Oll1CE Mrss Love again trled to teach the g1rls to cook and wash dlshes and turned out some pretty efftctent housekeepers Mr Theus agatn was coach and hrstory teacher Mr RICE contxnued to teach the boys to love ptgs and ch1ckens Mtss Roeder and Mlss M1lls tauaht us Enghsh Mlss Van Ormer was our commerclal teacher and sponsor After a summer ln meant we returned to was so grown up she w1th her weddmg rmg Pont And three weeks after school started Davld Daehler Jotned our ranks We had mmoled feel1ng about hav1ng The Preachers Kid m our mrdst but he turned out to be O K Much to our SUFDTISG we were assrgned Mtss Coleman for a sponsor also much to our surprtse she seemed to llke us Stnce we had los to do we launched 1nto tt wlth a wxll In one day we collected enough money from ads to practlcally flnance the annual We dxvtded the class mto refreshment commxttees and everyone took hls turn maklng and selltng sandwlches and pop We sponsored a dance we put on a play Every fmanctal scheme we have launched has proved a success No one has had any serlous conflxcts but dont mtsunderstand me no one has sprouted w1ngs' As the year has progressed we have become more attached to one another and as parttng draws closer we feel that glow that comes when thmkxng of loyal frlends and true Mr Moore agaln was prmclpal and chlef excuse 1ssuer lf and when we brought sat1s factorv no es from our parents lvftss Love Mr Rtce and Mrs Swanson fthe former Mxss Van Ormerl were w1th us agaxn We had two coaches durtng the year Mr Meeks who was with ns through football season and M Ketst who was wtth us the rest of the year Mlss Haseltlne was our MUSIC dtrector and M1ss Coleman our Engltsh and Hrstory teacher and our sponsor We have worked together played together and fought together for four years As we leave the place for the last tlme as students we know we have galned fnendshlps love and fortxtude to see us through the comlng years May we prove to be loyal sons and daughters of the school and stand out for the h1gh prmclples we have learned here IS our prayer whtch many of us learned for the f1rst tlme what good hard work school thtnkmg we were qutte grown
