This Teacher, Miss Mabel Lou Ahrens, accepTed The posiTion wiTh a Trown. Then The work began-making IayouTs, wriTing copy, cropping picTures, meeTing deadlines, copyreading, making money and answering ThaT darn phone. OTher Tedious Tasks were playing hangman, eaTing broken IiTesavers, sTyIing hair and gossiping. Gradually, Things began To Take shape, The compIeTed pages and secTions were rushed To The prinTers. For The remainder oT The year, The sTaTT anxiously awaiTed The arrival oT Their masTerpiece? AT lasT The books were delivered amidsT much caIamiTy and chaos.
