Thaf firs'r school had an enrollmenf of 23 pupils. and il' consisfed of one room of rough board parlilions in a warehouse ,near 'rhe si+e of our presenl' cify hall. School facili+ies increased, and fhe 'rradirional log school house was buill. Torn down and replaced by an eighl'-room +hree-s+ory building, fhe Union school housed fhe firsi high school and was complefed in I867 al' a cos? of SI5,000.
