M-HS T igs October 11, the girls had Parents Night to recognize their parents. The underclassmen gave their mothers carnations and their fathers a volleyball made of cardboard paper, with the girls’ number on it. The Seniors gave their mothers a mum and their fathers a T-shirt with their number on it. The Senior girls also presented Coach Anderson with a t-shirt with all of their names on it, in recognition of his being their volleyball coach for four years. Cong Hours and Hard Work Pays The best in 50 years? Yes, you heard right! The 1977 football season ended with a 7-2 record, the best record since 1927. Unfortunately, along with all the triumphs, there were also the tragedies. During the summer, Mike McCammon who would have been a senior starter, was killed in a car accident. “It was one of the saddest things that could happen to a football team,” said Coach Hague, “but it brought the boys even closer together than they were before.” The boys still felt they could have a good season and worked hard. Then the third game of the season, Bryan Clark, a senior starter, broke his leg. The next game we play- ed Sylvan Grove, and lost 7-6. But then the guys had five straight wins to end the season 7-2.
