The custodial staff of five men and their student helpers kept the school plant in operation. They swept and mopped up after messy Cougars, attempted the im- possible task of keeping the building at temperatures that pleased everybody, repaired the broken, moved stuff from where it was to where it wasn't, and per- formed thousands of other tasks to keep us all comfortable. At the high school these men were Forrest Dempsey and Richard Rightmeier. At the grade school and junior high school these caretakers were Jim Jensen and Carl Patton. Hank Diamond, head custodian, kept an eye on all plants, equipment, and buses. At lunchtime certain ladies found themselves to be most popular. They were the cooks who kept ravenous Cougars from immediate starvation. In the high school these ladies were Edith Love and Charlotte Murray. At the grade school it was Eva Wiley, Frances Weaverling and Thelma Freeman. Student helpers, not pictured, were Cheryl Pletcher, Linda Eilert, Kenny Eilert, and Shirley Novak. 9
