D m m The Mankato High School Band (64 members) had new uniforms and a new instructor for the 1964-65 school year. The uniforms converted from marching uniforms to striking concert uniforms. Miss Dorothy Libben, director, saw the band through six parades, an excellent Winter Concert, a band clinic, an exchange- concert with Jewell and District Music Festi- val (rating 2). The Band Officers were: President, Bob Shirley; Vice-President, Cindy Halstead; Sec.- Treas., Sandy Wilson; Publicity, Vance Tyrell; Librarian, Cheryl Halstead. Something new this season, the band elected a band queen, Donna Hills. The 15 member dance band, the Cougaraires, performed at the exchange concert, Teacher’s Meeting, and for Lions Club. 'STANDING: Carol Mohler, Mary Halstead, Karen German, Bonita Esslinger, Ruth Hunter, Mary Dillon, Rodney Rafferty, Mike Conner, Cindy Halstead, Jack Dean, Danny Hancock, Jana Rothchild, Lyndell Hansen.
