Clegg Front row: Jack Dean, Bruce LeClair, Richard Soash, Betty Moon, Linda Vader, Lonzy Hanson, Carol Cortner, Eddie Wilson The Mankato marching band had a very busy and successful season making eleven public appearances. There were four trips out of town which included the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson; Band Day at Kansas State University; the Corn Festival at Jewell; and the Veterans Day Parade in Beloit. The band led three pep rallies down town and performed for five home football games thrilling the crowd with a different show and theme each time. At all home games during basketball season the fans enjoyed the bands play- ing of popular tunes and fast peppy numbers. The band gave two formal concerts con- sisting of special numbers including solos and ensembles. They also participated in the District Festival at Concordia entering solos, trios, quartets, and instrumental groups. 25
