There were only five experienced ball-players back from the '53 season, only two of whom were linemen, so the Cougars had rough going for awhile. After losing ■ the first two games and tying the third, they started on the winning trail. The only other • game they lost after that was a heartbreaker to- '•'Smith Center. At the end of the season the £Cougars were a mighty rugged ball club and could have given anybody a real battle. {• T7 ; Osborne Concordia Lincoln P-burg Clyde Smith Center Belleville Downs 1951; Schedule M.H.S. Here are the facts revealing their activities in 1965. GLORIA BEAM has taken over Liberace's daily concert. They played a duet on one program but Liberace couldn't keep up with Gloria so he resigned. DICK BOYD, too, is in the entertainment business. He is co-starring with Marilyn Monroe in a new movie release, Bolts and Nuts. WILMA McKIM, who is a bridal consultant with the Brides To Be? company, is also in Hollywood. BARBARA CASE, who usually doubles for Esther Williams, is vacationing in Miami. She is sporting her boy friends around in a pink Cadillac. HARLOW VADER, also vactioning in Miami, has just been named America's Most Eligible Bacholer according to a recent survey made by Mpdamoiselle magazine. PAT SLOAN, NORMAN MASON, and COGIE PEUGH are in New York. Pat is the proprietor of the city's largest reducing salon. Madame Wylene it is the one to whom all the Broadway stars owe their fame and fortunes. Norman is running a swanky night club named The Hole. He is widely known as New York's fastest playboy. Cogie has just returned from Australia where she has become the country's foremost lady athlete. She is now getting ready to make her debut with the Metropolitan Opera Company. DONNA GOULDIE has just signed a contract to take over Ann Southern's place on Private Secretery. DEAN LUSHER has also become a leading T. V. personality. His most popular program is Kiddies Komer over K.H.O.L. LYLE OLENA is master of ceremonies on the Bride and Groom Show sponsored by Phillips 66. In his spare time he is writing a book on How To Get Engaged. MARILYN FROST is still living in South Dakota. It seems as though Bill is still stationed there. Aside from her regular work Marilyn is working on a project to have some women's faces carved in the mountain next to Mt. Rushmore. Farther north, in Alaska, is VERNIE THRONSON. Vemie, who always had an interest in art is designing fur-lined Bikini bathing suits for the Eskimo women. While Vernie and Marilyn are in the. cold North, ALMA McDill and LAWRENCE JONES are enjoying the warm sun in Hawaii. Alma is writing a book entitled Confessions of a Private Secretary or I Learhed Filing the Hard Way. Lawrence is attending Honolulu University and just recently won the 1500 meters in the Olympics held on the campus of K. U. MELBA VOSS is a house mother of a fraternity on the campus of Yale Univer- sity. Also working on a college campus is EMIL RHOLA. Emil is the athletic director of Colorado Women's College. His ski team holds the North American ski jump record. MARIE HOYT, DARRELL WARNER, and LEO ZADINA are still in the Mankato area. Marie is the co-owner with Gary Means of a riding academy at Randall. Darrell is the president of a large company that manufactures shatter- proof glass. He is living in Mankato's first glass mansion. Leo Zadina, who developed an interest in photography while working on the yearbook staff, has taken over Betty's Studio. His motto is Come,in and1 let me shoot you. SWEDE PETERSON and MAX PROCTOR are working in Detroit. 3 ede is the president of a corporation that manufactures potato soup. Potato soup has taken the place of Wheaties and is highly recommended for basket- ball stars. Look for the dinner of champions. Max is playing professional football with the Detroit Lions. On the off season he takes his dad's place as night cop. Instead of driving, he runs to keep in shape. Here ends the file of 1965. 42 (ZCauMiU We, the Senior Class of nineteen hundred and fifty-five being of sound mind and bodies and being about ready to be freed from this institution in which we have been engaged for the last twelve or more years, do make and publish this our last will and testament. This document was signed sealed, published, and declared by the Seniors, to be their last will and testament on this fifteenth day of February, nineteen hundred and fifty-five, in the presence of us, who at their request have named us as witnesses, in the presence of each other. SIGNED: WITNESSES: 1:25 We gave our verdict Guilty----------------of Guilty---------of being the best bunch of high school kids in years. 'i¥i4to Uf, @leu4 Ve check the files for a history of the class of 1955. Looking into the files, we found that the class of 1955 started their school career in kindergarten when four of the present members enrolled with Miss Donmire their first teacher.- These four were Gloria Beam, Marilyn Frost, Dick Boyd, and Darrell Warner. Here we give the statistics of their years in grade school and their teachers. First grade: Larry Peterson, Wilma McKim, Max Proctor, Marie Hoyt, and Cogie Peugh with Miss Arasmith; second: Vernon Thronson, Alma McDill, Emil Rohla, and Lyle Olena with Miss Shultz; third: Norman Mason, and Leo Zadina with Miss Cramer; fourth: Melba Voss with Mrs. Marjorie Murray. Checking the enrollment cards, we found that their largest class was 38 in the third grade. Memories of grade school include operettas, musical programs, and picnics.
