A Kayette Club was organized in Mankato High School in the fall of 19l 9. All of the girls in high school became members. The 1,000 point award was received for the 19U9 - 1950 years work. Some of the outstanding projects carried out that year were: A Heart Sister pro- ject, a Christmas party, Sadie Hawkins Sock Hop all school party, Mother-Daughter banquet, bought an electric coffee maker, bought 3 pieces of furniture, and attended World Day of Prayer. The 2,000 point award was received for the 1950-1951 years work. Some outstanding projects for that year were: Conducted Cancer Drive, kept a nursery at P. T. A. meetings, sent a C.A.R.E. package, presented a make-up kit to the dramatics department, operated the food concession at basketball games, sold Christmas cards, picnic given by Big Sisters, Father-Daughter banquet, four dele- gates attended Winter Conference at Belleville, and two members were sent to summer camp at Camp Horizon. For this year, 1951 - 1952, the following projects were undertaken: Finance projects: Advertising for football programs, sold Christmas cards, served at foot- ball and basketball games. The club and F. F. A. gave the school a concession stand for football games. World and Community Service: Christmas seals, sent 3 World Friendship packages, helped Kaw Valley School Library which was in the flood area. Social projects: Christmas Assembly for entire school, P. T. A. program, chili supper for Board of Directors, Mother-Daughter banquet. Four delegates attended Winter Conference at Blue Rapids. Delegates will be sent to summer camp. These are some of the projects the Kayettes undertook from the time the club was started three years ago. Each member participated in several of these pro- jects and enjoyed doing the work. We hope to get the 3,000 point award for this years work.
