The M.H.S. Band, under the direction of Donald McGuire, has 65 members. In the fall the band made two trips, to the Topeka Free Fair and the Hay's Home- coming Game. During football season the marching band practiced 3 days a week and gave marching exhibitions at the half of home games. The outstanding event of the year was the Christmas Concert given December 21, 1950. The band conducted a series of concerts throughout the year; during the winter they also played at the home basketball games. The band participated in the Comity Festival given in the spring, March 30 and 31, 1951. They also went to the District Festival at Concordia. 28
