McGuire, has participated in many events this school year. Of the most importance was the state wide publicity for their appearance at the Hutchinson State Fair in September. Other activities during the year were two trips to Hays, Kansas. One to hear the U.S. Marine Band in Concert and the other trip was to appear at the Hays College Band Day and Homecoming. The Band performed at all home football games by giving exhibitions during the halves and one-half of the band was used at home basketball games. The Band also appear- ed at the V.F.W. Laff it Off” show and at the V.F.W, rodeo prior to school. The Concert Band was a part of the annual Christmas concert; the Band appeared at the District Music Festival at Concordia and also played a very important part in the Jewell County Music Festival. 22
