Qaaqfcbtoag Dear M. H. S. Underclassmen, This is iust a little letter to tell you about our years at M. H. S. It was not all easy, for there was quite a bit of work. As Freshmen we chose for our class officers Russell Dore as President, Keith Martin as Vice-President, Sue Ann Bailey as Secretary, and Paul Tarr as Treasurer. Ellen Shunne- son and Carl Kotecki were elected to the Student Council. Mr. Capper and Mrs. Clason were our advisors for this year only. Our dance was the Western Jubilee, and a variety of dances were arranged. It was this year that we took our first Kuder test, which was the one where we punched a lot of holes in several pieces of paper. When we advanced to Sophomores, we selected Jim Markham as President, Arlene Janowiak as Vice-President, Jean Bauman as Secretary, and John Engwall as Treasurer. For the Student Council we chose Bob Johnson and Donna Hartman. It was this year that Mr. and Mrs. Apsey became our advisors who followed through the last three years with us. Our dance was entitled Moonlight Serenade. Bob Johnson and Arlene Janowiak were the co-chairmen. We ordered our class rings this year, and they surely were nice ones. This year we took the Primary Mental Ability test to find out iust how smart we were. Our Junior year was one of the best. For officers we elected Darlene Janowiak as President, Pat McCarthy as Vice-President, Judy Falk as Secretary, and Bonnie Schuelke as Treasurer. Donna Hartman and Russell Dore were our representatives to the Student Council. The J-Hop was a real success, the title being Blue Hawaii. Russell Dore was the chairman for this dance. It was also during this year that we took the Kuder test over again. ln football Al Medacco received an iniured shoulder in a game. Darwin Schimke made All-Conference second team in football, and Mike Lynch made All-Conference honorable mention in basketball. At last we climbed to the top. As Seniors, John Capper was President, Bruce Rade- maker was Vice-President, Hope Ramsdell was Secretary, and Ken Madsen was Treasurer. Those on the Student Council were Ron Anderson, Donna Hartman, and Russell Dore as President. Mickey Frederiksen brbke his leg and was in the hospital for several months. The skip trip to Washington, D. C., and to New York City was something that will not be forgotten for a long time. Bethal VanderBurg did a very capable iob as head maiorette leading the band through all of its formations. In football an excellent team was produced with Mike Lynch, Darwin Schimke, Harold Krolczyk, and Al Medacco getting on the All- Conference first team. John Capper made the second team, with several others receiving honorable mention. Finally, with much help and co-operation from the other students and from the faculty, we completed our years at M. H. S. and departed with our graduation certificate. Sincerely Yours, Senior Class ll55ll 4
