FREMONT-2 MANISTEE-I8 The Blue 81 Gold unlashed a high powered running attack and an alert defense to defeat Fremont I8-2. The Chippewas displayed sharp downfield blocking and a fast charging' defense. CANADIAN SOO-6 MANISTEE-20 The Blue 84 Gold whipped Collegiate Institute 20-6 in a grand display of offensive and defensive power. The boys lost to Big Rapids eighth grade 12-0 on Chippewa field, but they whipped the Cardinals 6-0 at Big Rapids in the season's Hnal game.

Managers Frank Slawinski, John Hansen PETOSKEY- I 4 MANISTEE-0 Petoskey scored 13 points in the first half of the Chippewas' opening gridiron contest. The Chippewas settled down the second half to defi- nitely outplay the Northmen, but they were unable to score. HART-20 MAN ISTEE-I 9 The Blue 8: Gold was upset by Hart in an exciting game by a score of 20-19 on the home field. The Chippewas were the first to score, but Hart scored three times in the first half. Manistee came roaring back the second half to score twice and they kept the Pirates deep in their own territory the remainder of the contest. LUDINGTON-I 2 MANISTEE-25 The highlight of the season was when Luding- ton suffered a Z5-12 defeat at the hands of the Chippewas. The game was played in a 15 degree gale. The Chippewas made their own breaks that night and they led 25-0 into the fourth quarter.
