Cla 5 filkfo y In 1944 we began our first grade in the Manilla School with fifteen members, six of which are in our graduating class. The six are: Steve Fletcher, Carla Beth Henke, Neal Kuhn, Ruth Ann Kuhn, Audrey Pounds, and John Wagoner. The remainder of the beginning first grade was -- Jim Basham, Rudy Dietz, Robert Downey, Teddie Lanter, Janet Miller, Joan Miller, Wilma Miller, and Norman Nickel. We had a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Helen Gahimer. We neither gained nor lost anyone during our first year in school. Miss Hester was our second grade teacher. During this year, Bill Cox, Sherman Bane, Delbert Crisman, Wayne Crisman, George Russell, Gene Krammes, and Grace Barnard joined our class. Sherman Bane, Robert Downey, Joan Miller, Grace Barnard, and Teddie Lanter withdrew leaving seventeen members in our class. When we came back to school in the fall to begin our third grade, we were happy to find that Miss Hester was again our teacher. We gained Maxine Macy, Irma Emholt, Marvin Toll, and Philip Miller, and at the end of the year Marvin Toll withdrew. We were left with twenty members. H Our fourth grade teacher was Mrs. Bertha Conover. This year Bobby Christopher, Luanne McCord, Kenneth Sandefur withdrew. We end- ed the school year with twenty-two members. During our fifth grade, we were divided. Part of our class was in Mrs. Conover's room and the rest of our class was moved into Mrs. Lenore Himes' room. Marcia Weidner joined our class durin the summer and Bobby Christopher, Luanne McCord. Philip Miller, and Ethel Poynter withdrew during the year leaving nineteenmembers. Our sixth grade teacher was Mrs. Himes. We found that we neither gained nor lost anyone during this school year. We moved upstairs for our seventh grade and elected Mr. Mahin our sponsor. During the year Lavonne Davis and John Willey Joined our class. Edna Gahimer, Lavonne Davis, and Norman Nickel withdrew during the year leaving our class with eighteen members. We began our eighth grade with four new members--Tom Rankin, Bill Stocklin, Betty French, and Lila Whittle, Miss Rampy was our sponsor. We had no withdrawals during this year. Lila Whittle withdrew during the summer so we began our ninth grade with twenty-one members. Philip Miller again joined our class Tom Rankin, Bill Stocklin, and Judy Winkler withdrew. Miss Rampy was again chosen our sponsor. During the summer, Marcia Weidner withdrew from our class. We lost five members during our tenth year. They were Rudy Dietz, Jim Basham, Wilma Miller, Janet Miller, and John Willey. At the beginning of the second semester, Grethel Hall and Tom Rankin Joined our class. Mr. James Gardner was our sponsor. b an our Junior year with sixteen members. At the Last year, we eg end of the first semester, Betty French withdrew. Mr. Gentry Neekw'w chosen sponsor. Now, as seniors of Manilla School, we have a membership of fifteen. We elected Miss Miriam Eberhart sponsor and the following class officers -- President, Audrey Pounds, Vice-president, Steve t h Secretary Grethel Hall' and Treasurer, Carla Beth Henke.
