The Styles and Fads of l96l-i962 Joan Fellenbaum and Mike McCue model school wear Date attire is worn by Lonnie Kulp and Tony Witter. Relaxing in sports garb are Jill Gun- ner and Dick Epler. The year - l96l-l962. Trench coats and sneakers appeared everywhere. Short skirts, high socks, and Ca- pezio shoes were favorites with the girls, and it was continental pants, ivy league shirts, and crew neck sweaters with the boys. Teased hair became stylish for the girls, and Princeton hair cuts predominated among the boys. Both boys and girls wore bermudas and clam diggers when they headed for the Shore. Pizzas and cokes intermixed with the Twist and the Bristol Stomp created a typical weekend party atmosphere. Parrish Joy Groeschel and Betty Diller leave school in a foreign made Sprite Margie Parman and Jim Buller pose in formal clothing. and Breakfast at Tiffany's highlighted the cinema fare of the year. Michael, Run Around Sue, and School ls Out topped the popular record charts, and Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, and U.S. Bonds were included in the well-liked recording artists. Styles and fads remain significant factors in the life of a teenager. These were this year's styles and fads, but they are forever changing and no one can predict what they will be in the future.
