Qword It was on Saturday, january 19, 1957, that Miss Abbey, executive director of the German-American Institute in Mannheim, Germany, arrived at the town of our alma mater. The motive of her visit was to promote the community-to-community project between the two towns of like German name and to celebrate the 350th Anniversary of Mannheim, Germany. Influenced by this inter-country relationship, the 557 Stiegel Rose year- book staff proudly chose Mannheim, Germany-Manheim, Pennsylvania as their theme. ctlicarion We, the class of '57, dedicate this yearbook to understanding -an un- derstanding or mutual friendship between the people of Mannheim, Ger- many, and those of Manheim, Pennsylvania. Through our yearbook we hope to give a better interpretation and under- standing of ourselves to our friends across the sea.
