With great pride we, the Class of 1956, dedicate this year- book to our supervising principal, Mr. H. C. Burgard. Mr. Burgard began his career in Manheim in 1920, when he served as teacher and supervising principal. Since that time, the school system has been growing and progressing steadily under his capable leadership and administration. As we bring our high school education to a close, Mr. H. C. Burgard is also terminating his career as supervising principal of Manheim Central High School. When he retires, he will leave behind him many visible marks of his achievements-new school buildings, expanded courses of study, and increased opportunities. For his untiring efforts to give to us the best that could be had, we, the class of l956, express our sincere gratitude.
