When the first yearbook was published just four short years ago by the senior class of our High School, the present staff mem- bers gave Iittle thought to the fact that they too soon would be- come involved in the preparation of another volume which will record for the future the accomplishments of all fellow students during the current school term. I wish to congratulate the staff and the entire class for their splendid production. Going through some correspondence of several years ago I came across a letter from a former graduate. I wonder if the author will recognize it. Among other things it contained the following: TeII the students for me that they should enjoy their high school days even if their work seems hard. No matter how tough the going gets, Manheim students should be thankful that they have a good high school to attend. I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Manheim High School. You have achieved the first goal-that of graduation-and we trust that you have enjoyed the fun and profited by the hard work encountered along the way. But graduation presents you with a challenge to display those attributes of scholarship and character which have been instilled in you in order that you may make your proper contribution to society. May I congratulate the graduateslof the class of 1956 and wish each one of you the greatest success in the future. D. W.
