The staff for this yearbook, the third to be published by a senior class of Manheim Central High School, has labored hard ai d long to produce this record of the accomplishments of all the students during the current school term. l should like to congratulate the members and the class for their fine product. One of the misfortunes of the era in which you are living is that many people have cultivated the idea that the world or their immediate society owes them a living with no obligation on their part. Our country was not founded on such a philos- ophy and cannot long endure unless we return to the idea that each person must make his contribution to society. Your staff has met the challenge presented to it to equal or surpass the results of previous classes. In the same manner each member of your class must meet squarely the issues that will confront him after graduation in order that the com- munity and society as a whole will be a better place in which to live. May I congratulate the members of the class of 1955 on your achievements so far and wish you the greatest of success in the future. Many High School Seniors look back on their school days as an experience of too much discipline, regimentation, and hard work. Actually, most of the 2160 days of your total school life were happy days. At the same time, however, you have been building a foundation for all future endeavor. We hope and trust that the school has not failed you in helping. Com- pleting this edifice rests squarely on your shoulders. On behalf of the faculty, I wish to extend heartiest con- gratulations on your graduation and wish you every success in the years to come. Robert A. Weitzel Assistant Principal D. W. Witmer Principal
