1962 TOWER MANHATTANVILLE COLLEGE of the SACRED HEART PURCHASE, N. Y. A 4 Pius X School of Liturgical Music Benziger Building 4 Chafrel Construction as of December 1961 5 6 Dedication Over ten years ago, there was a map of the terrain and a blueprint. More than that, there was a vision which animated the blueprint; the result, is something far more than stone and concrete. From the blueprint was born the campus in Purchase ; from the vision was born the new Manhattanville. Through foresight and love, the tradition of the Sacred Heart was carried to Westchest er where it would con¬ tinue to be the impetus behind the education of the modern woman, involved and in love with her world. The fitting conclusion to a great exertion has been the two hundred and twenty acres of secluded campus which is not the safeguard of our isolation but the instru¬ ment of our involvement. On the tenth anniversary of Manhattanville’s establishment in Purchase, we dedicate the 1962 Tower to Reverend Mother Fitzgerald. It was Reverend Mother’s foresight which made possible a new campus following the tradition of the Sacred Heart, where knowl¬ edge is not the sole aim, but rather wisdom, whi ch is knowle dge coupled with magnanimity. m ■ ■ ..; 35B . 4v-n m i FACULTY What have we given?
